Foam board is commonly used to mount photographs and graphic art once printed. Most artists use adhesive spray or mounting paper to adhere their work to the foam board, securing the image on the board's surface. However, art created in an editing or graphic design program may also be printed on adhesive paper, then mounted on foam board. The result of using adhesive paper is cleaner and safer than using adhesive sprays or mounting paper.
Instructions
- 1
Lay foam board on a flat surface. Place the sheet of adhesive paper over the foam board, with the protective back paper still in place. Mark the corners of the paper with a black pen or a pencil.
2Remove a corner of the protective back paper behind the adhesive sheet, and tack the exposed corner to the foam board, using the pen or pencil marks as a guide.
3Lift and slightly bend back the remaining section of the adhesive paper sheet up, away from the foam board. Continue removing the back paper while gently pressing down on the top surface with your one hand to flatten out air bubbles.
4Place a blank sheet of paper over the adhesive paper's top surface, and pat the surface with both hands to ensure that the adhesive paper adheres to the foam board properly.
