How to Print Photos in an Exact Size

Printing your photos an exact size is easy to do with the use of Adobe Photoshop image editing software. Photos can be re-sized by width or height with the use of the image size dialog box in the program. They can then be saved in a JPEG format and printed right from Photoshop. Having a basic understanding of Photoshop is all you will need for printing your photos in the exact size you desire.

Instructions

    1

Save your photos in a file on your hard drive.

    2

Open Photoshop and then open your photo by selecting "File" in the drop-down menu and then "Open." Locate your file in the folder you created, select the photo and click the "Open" button.

    3

Click "Image" from the drop-down menu, and then click "Image Size." This will open the Image Size dialog box.

    4

Make sure "Constrain Proportions" is selected with a check mark. This will keep the width and height of the photo proportionate.

    5

Select "Inches" in the drop-down under "Document Size," type in the desired width of the photo, and click "OK."

    6

Click "File" from the drop-down menu and select "Save as." Locate the folder where you want to save your file. Under "Format" select "JPEG" from the drop down, name your file, and click "Save."

    7

Click "File" from the drop-down menu and select "Print." Make sure "Scale to Fit Media" is unchecked and click the "Print" button. The print dialog box will appear. Click the "Print" button again.
