Convert your photo to digital. If you took the photo on a digital camera, then it is already in digital format. If it is a print, scan it to obtain a digital copy. If you do not have access to a scanner, take it to your local photo finisher and have them scan it for you.
2Find a site to use to create and order your card. Popular sites include ritzpix.com, shutterfly.com, and snapfish.com. Some sites (like ritzpix.com) allow you to order the photo card and pick it up at your local store. Others only allow you to ship it to your home or office. Once you choose a site, create an account on the site.
3Log into your account and upload the digital photo you wish to use on the site. To upload the photo, look for a button that says "Add photos" or "Upload photos." The site will walk you through the upload process. Generally, you navigate to where the photo is stored on your computer and select it, and the site uploads the photo to your account.
4Locate the area on the site to create cards. Click on the "create cards" button or similar button indicating the card creation area of the site.
5Browse through the card categories, such as "Thank You," "Birthday," "Christmas," or a variety of other categories. Once you choose your category, browse through the different card templates until you find one you like. Select it.
6Add the photo(s) to your card. Most sites allow you to drag the photo onto the card template, or select it from your online albums stored in your account.
7Add text to your card. Most sites allow you to click in a text area and type your text. You can also edit the font size and color to better fit your card.
8Perform any additional edits to your card, like resizing or cropping your photo, or adding more text.
9Order the photo card when you are finished creating it. Most sites have an "order" button right in the card creation area. Depending on the site you use, you can pay online using your credit card, or opt to pay for the card when you pick it up in your local store.
