Just as many people cut out photographs from magazines and paste them into notebooks, journals or hang them on walls, others may choose to use magazine photographs for their web pages or blogs. These magazine images may be used as a background for a blog or more commonly used as an illustration to a given blog post.

Flip through a magazine or a few magazines and choose the images that could be beneficial to your blog. Mark the pages the photos are on with paper clips or tabs so you can easily locate them. You may cut the images out using scissors or leave them as is.
2Use a scanner connected to your computer to scan the magazine images onto your computer. Lay a page of a magazine or a few images if you cut them out on the scanner and then scan them. Choose to scan either in color or black and white and keep the dpi at 300 to maintain the high quality of the images.
Repeat for each image or magazine page. If scanning a single image on a magazine page, instead of cutting it out with scissors, you may crop it out while scanning by selecting it and scanning just the selected area. This will make the image larger and sharper.
3Take photographs of magazine images using your camera if you prefer rather than scanning. This option works if you either have a tripod or a steady hand. Turn off the flash in your camera and place the magazine in a well-lit place.
Take a photograph of the magazine image either at normal mode or macro (close-up) mode. Repeat for each magazine image. Transfer the images to your computer via USB cable or card reader. These may not be as sharp or true to color as scanned images but may still work for a blog.
4Locate either the scanned magazine images, the photos of the magazine images on your computer or wherever they were saved, such as on a camera card. Edit the images by cropping them, sharpening them, editing the colors and sizes and changing the contrast to make the photos sharper using photo editing programs. Save these newly edited images.
5Search for magazine images online instead of scanning them or taking photographs of them. Many magazines upload their images onto their websites. Magazines such as "LIFE" have a large archive of images available for Internet users.
You can also search for magazine-type images on stock photo websites that feature high-quality images, such as those often used in magazines. These are either free or available at a low cost.
6Go to your blog online. Depending on the type of blog you have, you may either copy and paste the chosen magazine image into your blog or open it while writing a blog post so it is attached to that particular blog post.
7Write the source of the image when using it on your blog. Mention either the magazine where you got it or the photographer who shot the photograph. The latter can be found on the same page where you got the image from the magazine.
Always mention the source when reusing a magazine image to avoid possible copyright issues. For example, you may write: "as seen in the December 2010 issue of [insert name of magazine]."
