Canada Council for the Arts
The Canada Council for the Arts offers a number of grants for visual arts, including photography. Photographers can apply for project grants of up to $20,000 per year and long-term grants of up to $80,000 over two years. All Canada Council grants are for artists who already have professional experience and have had numerous public exhibitions of their work. The Canada Council also offers grants for galleries or museums for the acquisition and exhibition of visual art, including photography. Grants in this category include the Professional Canadian Contemporary Art Dealers grant of up to $20,000 and the Acquisition Assistance for Art Galleries and Museums Grant of up to $30,000.

Emerging artists who have a small exhibition record but have at least three years of professional experience are eligible to receive up to $5,000 per year; mid-career artists who have at least eight years of professional experience and have had a number of public exhibitions are eligible to receive up to $7,500 per year; and established artists who have at least 15 years of experience and have had national or international exhibitions are eligible to receive up to $15,000 per year. The Ontario Arts Council also offers support to public galleries and single exhibition or project assistance.
