Use translucent scrapbooking gel paint to add color to black and white photos that you don't have saved to your computer or memory disk.

Identify the object in your photo to which you would like to add color. Choose an object that typically has significant color, such as flowers, a brightly colored shirt, red lips or bright blue eyes.
2Position your black and white photo onto a clean, flat surface. Although the translucent scrapbooking gel paint is easy to use and clean if it spills, lay a plastic place mat or paper towel under the photo to protect your work surface.
3Dip your thin, acrylic paint brush tip into the paint. Use whatever color paint fits the object you'd like to enhance. Lightly scrape off excess paint from the brush on the side of the paint bottle to avoid globs.
4Apply the paint to the object in your photo. Ensure that you add the color to the entire object. Repeat these steps to enhance any other objects in your photo.
5Allow the photo to dry completely -- about 2 hours -- before handling, framing and displaying.
