Some photography projects don't require a high-paid professional model. Whether you're a college student who needs a subject or a smaller photography business that needs a model for product or corporate style photographs, finding inexpensive models locally is easy. Often, a small photography project doesn't have the budget for professional models, but really there are people all around you who are willing to step in for a few minutes of fame, a modest hourly wage and a copy of the pictures.

Determine what type of models you need for the photography project. Do you need children? Do you need a family? Do you need senior citizens? Will the project require pets or a specific location, and does it have a time frame?
2Look for a variety of ages and type of people who can work as models at the local theater group. Call or visit the theater group and explain to the manager what type of project you are doing. Remind them the models will be compensated and can use the project as a line on their resume. If possible, share a photo with them to use for their portfolio to show how diverse their acting skills can be--on stage and behind a lens.
3Approach senior citizens at a senior center for projects requiring grandmother and grandfather figures. Seniors usually have an flexible schedule since they are retired. Seniors can always use a little extra cash and an experience they can share with their friends and family.
4Contact local high school drama clubs for teenage models. Speak with the drama club director first and explain the project. Ask to attend an audition or dress rehearsal to see how the teenagers act, look and work with others. All teens like a little extra cash and bragging rights. Be sure to confirm all projects with parents and the school before contacting any of the students.
5Call a local dance troupe or dance instructor. If the photography project requires limber people who can hold a pose, dancers can do the job. Several age groups participate in dance. Ask the dance instructor if you can visit the class to tell them about your project. Bring an information sheet they can take home to show parents. Include contact, compensation and project information.
6Post a notice at a local college. Students are always looking for extra money, and many have had acting or modeling experience from high school activities. They have flexible schedules and can add the project to a list of experience if they are an aspiring model.
