Photographing a picture can be simple with the right photo shoot setup and some trial and error. Learning how to photograph a picture can be a handy skill to have. Making a collage of old photos or photographing artwork can be different then capturing three-dimensional images. Easier to pose, maybe, but with the disadvantage that they often pick up "noise" and can reflect the image of the photographer. The following are some tips to help shoot that picture.
Instructions
Picture Without Glass.

Take the photo or picture out of the frame if possible. This will be the easiest to shoot. Arrange the photo or photos flat on a surface low enough to be able to shoot from above.
2Set up a photo umbrella. Clamp the lamp onto the back of a kitchen chair. Position the clamp-on lamp so the light bulb is facing towards the center of the umbrella. This will give a soft light to the picture. The picture should be set on a flat surface under the light.
3Set up the tripod. Before attaching the camera, set your digital camera at an ISO of 80 to 100. Turn off the flash and use the camera's incandescent or daylight setting. Shoot looking directly down at the pictures but making sure that you are not blocking the lighting.
Picture Behind Glass

Clamp the lamps on two kitchen chairs. Position the chairs at 45-degree angles to the picture hanging on the wall. Aim the lamps to shine on the picture from the sides pointing towards the frame and not directly shining onto the glass.
5Turn off the flash and use the camera's incandescent or daylight setting. Set the camera's white balance to cloudy.
6Set your digital camera to an ISO of 80 to 100. Set the camera's aperture to f/5/6 to f/11.
7Place the camera securely on the tripod. Stand directly in front of the picture. Aim the camera lens to the center of the picture and shoot.
