Hook your camera or card reader to your computer with the camera card in it.
2Locate photo retrieval software through an Internet search with the key words "recover photos." Good examples of photo retrieval software include Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery 3.1 or Data Recovery 2.3.1. Look for software that consumers review and recommend by name on independent websites to ensure that you do not accidentally download a virus.
3Read the instructions on the website that covers how to operate the software. Some data recovery software must be downloaded and installed. Other software will operate from the website itself.
4Follow the website's instructions. For software that you must download, click the download button. Then unpack the software by clicking on the icon that the downloaded software places on your computer. Click the install software icon once it unpacks. Then load the software.
5Select the "retrieve files" button in the program. The program will pull up your computer's root directory tree. Choose the disk that contains your deleted files and hit the "OK" button. A menu will pop up with your photos included.
6Right click on the photos that you want to save and select the "Save As" option to save the photos to your computer.
