Kindergarten graduations are a special time for both students and parents. Kindergarten graduations mark the transition from young childhood to school age years. Select a digital camera to take the kindergarten pictures outdoors in a location at school. The sun will serve as a natural light source permitting photographers to capture each child's natural skin tones, as well as the surrounding colors in the location.

Select a shady location close to a classroom with bright colors, such as a playground, garden or under a tree. The shade will diffuse the bright sunlight, preventing bright spots from appearing on each kindergarten student's face. Choose a spot that is facing the sun to prevent underexposed pictures or silhouettes.
2Extend the tripod legs to adjust the height, matching the kindergarten graduates height. Position the camera four feet away from the selected location.
3Set the camera on a tripod to prevent camera shake when taking the photo. Detach the removable head plate from the tripod and insert the screw on the head plate to the bottom of camera. Turn the screw until the head plate is secure and attach the camera to the tripod.
4Stand or seat each child in front of the selected location one foot in front of the object. Positioning the child away from the object allows the sun to cast over the child's shoulder, separating the child from the background and adding dimension.
5Take the photo of the kindergarten graduate and review the image on the LCD screen of the digital camera. Reposition the camera if necessary and take another photo if the first photo is flawed.
