Whether it is a cherished family picture or a photo you took that turned out stunning, you may want to display it as home decor, and embroidering it is a good way to go. One of the most well-known and used photo-enhancing software programs is called Photoshop. Among other features it lets you change your photos with many textures and effects so that you can then get to work embroidering.
Instructions
- 1
Open Photoshop and open the picture you want to embroider.
2Click on Filter, choose Artistic, then Poster Edges. Adjust the elements to suit your needs, then click OK.
3Click on Filter and choose Artistic again, then select Cutout and adjust so that the outlines of your photo are clear enough to embroider, then click OK.
4Print the resulting image, remembering that you need to size it to the fabric size you want to embroider.
5Tape the print to a window, then tape your fabric you will embroider on top of the print. It is best to have your fabric at least two inches wider than your picture, so that you will have space for the embroidery hoop.
6Outline your picture on the piece of fabric using a water-soluble pen. If your picture has different colors, use different color pens.
7Mount your outlined piece of fabric onto an embroidery hoop and stitch following the patterns.
