How to Make Yourself Photogenic ~ Enhance Photography Skill

Many people hate having their photo taken. If you want to hide when you see someone pull out a camera, there are steps you can take to be more photogenic. While some people are just naturally more photogenic than others, you can improve how you look in photographs. Anybody can look gorgeous in a photograph with a bit of planning, thought and preparation that starts well in advance of a photo shoot. Don't worry. It won't be a photo altering program that makes your picture that gorgeous. It's simply the new photogenic you.

Feel good about yourself. Awkwardness is very evident in photos. If you don't feel good about yourself, it will read in the photo. Try to relax and feel confident when you take photos. A picture tells a story, and your feelings will shine through. Do what it takes to build your confidence on the day of the photo shoot. Communicate with your photographer about what you need in order to feel good.

Wear flattering clothes. Clothing greatly affects how you will look in a photo. Choose clothes that flatter your figure and your complexion. Consider clothing that complements your eye, skin and hair color.

Draw attention to your assets. If you have great teeth, smile big for the camera. If you have lovely arms, wear something that shows those arms.

Position your body in a flattering position. Turn your body at a slight angle to the camera, and bring one leg a bit in front of the other. This position has a slimming effect. Practice this position in front of a mirror so it looks natural when you pose for pictures.

Stand or sit up straight for photos. Good posture will make you look much better in photos. Avoid slouching or hunching in any way.

Lift your chin slightly to avoid a double chin. If you tilt your chin down for photos, it creates the appearance of a double chin. Yes, it does this even if you are slim.

Maintain eye contact with the camera. This will always make for a better photo as it shows confidence and charisma.

Practice posing for photos in front of a mirror, or have a friend with a digital camera take a wide range of photos of you. The more time you spend in front of the camera, the more comfortable you feel.
