How to Fix Pictures With Water on Them ~ Enhance Photography Skill

Careless handling or natural disasters such as floods can cause water damage to valuable photos and art items. Though some items may not be recoverable, there are several steps you can take to salvage your belongings.

Instructions

Set up fans to provide circulation to your drying items. Don't direct the stream of air directly at your items.

Lay plain paper towels over an even work surface. Place your pictures on this surface.

Blot moisture from your pictures carefully with plain paper towels .

Separate carefully papers that are stuck together. If they are so wet that they can't be separated without damage, let them dry in stacks of inch or less until they are dry enough to be separated.

Place sheets of wax paper between your separated sheets of paper pictures. Change the wax paper regularly until your pictures are completely dry.

Remove the back of the frame to expose your picture.

Carefully remove your picture and allow it to air dry. If the picture can't be removed without damage, let it air dry inside the frame.
