How to Save a Photo As a Coloring Book Image ~ Enhance Photography Skill

A fun and creative way to do something unique with a photo is to convert it into a coloring book image. This gives the photo an artistic look. It also can be a lot of fun if you have kids, because you can make them a custom coloring book with their photos. Turning a photo into a coloring book page can be done easily with most editing software.

Instructions

Acquire a digital photo. This can be done by transferring the image from your digital camera or by scanning a photo into your computer.

Open the photo in your photo editing software.

Convert the photo to black and white. Most software will have a button to do this --sometimes called "desaturate" --, but it also can be done manually by setting the saturation of the photo to zero.

Increase the brightness and contrast of the photo until the skin of the subject appears white.

Use the burn tool to darken edges of the subject's features that may have become washed out. Typical problem areas are the nose and fingers, but you can burn any area you feel needs darkening.
