Upload the picture to a computer, if you have not already. Scan it, or use a camera's USB cord or chip.
2Right-click on the image in its location on the computer.
3Select "Open With" and then select your default word-processing program. The image will open within a new document of the program.
4Right-click on the image again, in its new location.
5Click "Image Size" and a new box will appear.
6Type the desired width into the box next to the "Width" or "W" icon. Click "OK" to apply the transformation.
7Click on the image, and drag and drop the cursors on the image's outer corners to adjust it even more, if necessary.
8Right-click on the image and select "Copy."
9Navigate to the location on your computer that you would like the image to be stored. Once there, right-click and select "Paste." The newly edited image will appear.
10Save your document in the word-processing program if you intend make additional edits to the image in the future.
