Digital cameras are so affordable that they are used to take pictures both personal and professional. If your pictures come out with colors that are washed-out, change the camera's settings. With so many settings available on a digital camera, you will find the correct color correction for your pictures. Do not be afraid to change these settings as you can always change them back.

Change the camera to "Vivid" mode. Many cameras have different modes. The "Vivid" mode makes colors stand out more.
2Edit the exposure. The longer the exposure the camera is set in, the more light the final image will have. This helps lighten images that are dark.
3Add more white balance if colors are very dark. In some areas, white balance adds more white to objects, making the color more visible.
4Set the exposure to -2/3 stop exposure if your camera is taking in too much light. Too much light causes images to look white-washed. This means that there is so much white that it is overtaking the other colors.
5Add more color and saturation. Change these options to add more color to your images.
6Take multiple shots of the same subject using different settings. Experimenting with your camera's settings will help you find which one looks best for your subject.
