While this may seem similar to a zoom lens, this lens actually allows you to take the picture from as close as an inch or two away. In addition to this lens, your camera may have a mode for close-up photography. This preset mode will make the major adjustments to the camera's aperture and other settings so you don't have to.
2Attach the camera to a tripod. This gives the camera extra stability. Even the slightest movement during the split-second that the camera takes to capture the photo can cause severe blurriness that ruins the photograph. At the range needed to take a close-up photograph, this movement is even harder to avoid. Stabilizing the camera on a tripod can prevent the movement and keep your close-up photographs sharp and focused.
3Make minor adjustments to the camera's settings. While your camera's preset mode may save you time by changing some of the settings on your camera, you may have to make a few fine modifications. You might need to adjust the brightness, change the focus, and turn the flash on or off. The zoom may need to be adjusted before the final photograph is taken. It is easier to take a close-up photograph using the LCD display on your digital camera than by peering through the viewfinder.
4Take the final photo. It might be a good idea to take multiple shots so that you can choose the best one to print or use. You may want to try to same shot from different angles if you have trouble with wind or troublesome natural lighting.
