Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 is a software program that allows users to edit their own photographs in a myriad of ways. One way that you can put your photos together is by assembling them in a digital collage. Much like a normal collage, a digital collage is composed of several different pictures. But instead of printing out all the pictures one-by-one and assembling them on a board, you can arrange them in Photoshop and print out the collage on one page, saving you time and money.
Instructions
- 1
Open the Adobe Elements 8 software program.
2Click "File" from the toolbar menu, and select "New." This will create a new image that will be totally blank. This image will be referred to as the "Background" image. Designate the size of the image, based on the size that you want the overall collage to appear as (for instance, standard paper is 8.5 inches by 11 inches).
3Choose "File" from the menu toolbar again, and select "Open." Browse through your images to find one that you want to use for your collage. This will be referred to as "Image A."
4Select the "Move" tool (the icon with the four arrows and the cursor) from the toolbox. Grab "Image A" from its own window and drop it onto the "Background" image. It will appear as a new layer on the background image, and should be labeled "Layer 1" in the "Layers" panel.
5Navigate to the "Layers" panel and rename your "Image A" layer so that you can keep easier track of it. Close out of the "Image A" window so that you're only working with one window (the "Background" image window).
6Use the "Move" tool to place "Image A" where you want it to appear in your collage. You can also resize it using the "Move" tool and pulling the edges or corners to make it larger or smaller.
7Click "File" from the menu toolbar, and select "Open." Browse through your images to find another one that you want to add to your collage. Repeat the process, adding more pictures, and arranging them on the "Background" image to make your collage.
