Though you can display photographs using frameless pieces of glass, interior design that usually appeals to many people requires framing photos. You can make a photo frame from a variety of materials readily available at home such as wood, glass, metal or plastic.

Measure the length and breadth of the photo using the tape measure. Transfer the measurement to the metal sheet so as to establish the inner measurement of the frame. Draw the area you want to cut out using a marker pen. Mark the edges on both sides of the metal sheet because you will need 2 pieces each for each side of the frame. Make sure that the distance is equal from the center to the edges for your rectangular frame. Measure two inches from the internal frame and mark it on the metal sheet to create the body of the frame.
2Cut out the inner piece of the metal sheet accurately using the miter saw along the markings made by the marker pen. Cut the outer part of the metal sheet, making two pieces of each side of the metal sheet. Solder two pieces of each side of the cut-out metal sheets together to give your frame substantial frame thickness.
3Drill holes of the same diameter as the screw on the edges of the metal sheet. Attach the metal L corners to the sides of the frame using matching screws. Drive the screws firmly in place using a screwdriver and ensure the attachment is firm to prevent the frame pieces from falling out.
4Cut out a piece of glass using the same measurement as the area left for the photo. Slide the glass on the space left between the two soldered metal sheets and make sure it is well fixed. Cut out another metal sheet to slide at the back of the frame to support the photo and another piece to make a back support for the whole frame. Attach the last piece to the back of the frame to create a support.
5Fix a hook at the top of the frame using super glue in case you need to hand the photo.
