Most people never throw away photographs. Photos have sentimental value and preserve the memories of special life-events and people. Although you may have no desire to throw your photos away, you have probably considered storing some of them. Storing photos creates additional space, while keeping your pictures safe and secure. When stored properly, photographs will last for decades, and can be passed along to family members.
Instructions

Wrap each framed picture in acid-free paper. Paper that contains acid, such as newspapers, often causes pictures to lose their color. When acid emerges from the paper, your picture will absorb it and turn yellow. Acid-free paper keeps photos from discoloring and sticking together.
2Place your framed pictures in a cardboard box. Avoid airtight containers such as sealed, plastic containers. Cardboard is a breathable material, and is ideal for storing photographs. Neatly place all wrapped photos in the box. Place the largest photos at the bottom; all pictures should be stored face-up.
3Place the box in a dark, cool and dry area. Find a space in your home not affected by temperature and weather fluctuations. Make sure the area has ventilation.
