Photographing water can produce some visually interesting results. Two options to attempt to capture would be to stop the water in motion (to freeze it), or to capture the waters motion, which will create a blurred effect. While it can be trial and error, knowing a bit about your cameras shutter speed can help control your results. The shutter speed controls the length of time that the cameras shutter stays open for an exposure. The results are the same in a digital camera or a film camera. However, being able to set your camera to manual setting is required.
