Put the baby on or in something. Newborns can fit into things even small children can't fit in to. Take advantage of this and photograph your child in a bowl or basket.
2Deactivate your flash. The softer light of non-flash pictures can make your baby look more attractive. Look for the natural light in various rooms in your house and place the baby near or in it.
3Use black and white. Black and white can smooth out the blotchy skin of newborns.
4Take pictures while your baby is sleeping. An image of a content sleeping baby makes for a timeless image.
5Get close-up pictures. Capture as much close-up detail as you can.
