Daylab Slide Printer Instructions

The Daylab slide printer allows a photographer to make instant peel-apart prints from slides. These prints can then be used to make transfers or other kinds of art projects. The Daylab printer may look complicated, but the process of making instant prints from slides is not difficult.

Instructions

    1

Open the film-holder door on the Daylab slide printer. Push the film pack into the holder. Close and latch the film-holder door. Plug in the Daylab to a power supply. Lay your slide, dull side up, on the slide carrier. The slide should also be upside down. Insert the carrier into the slot. Select "View" to project the slide and compose the print.

    2

Turn the cropping and focusing control knob to raise and lower the head. This allows you to make the image smaller or bigger, while also allowing you to focus the image. Close the previewing door.

    3

Set the film type on the front of the processor. Use the setting for Polaroid 669 film (no longer available, but the same exposure time as the Fuji film). Set the exposure adjustment to "0" for the first print. Select "Print." Set the color adjustment to "0" also. Make sure the image preview door is shut. Pull out the dark slide on the film holder. Wait 15 seconds for the green "Start" button to come on. When it is green, push the "Start" button. Wait for the exposure time to elapse, and then re-insert the dark slide.

    4

Pull the white leader tab out of the film holder. You will now see the pull processing tab. Pull that tab, and push the timer button. Wait until it beeps four times, then separate the print from the negative carefully. Allow the print to dry on a flat surface.
