Create a plain background to place your saxophone against. Choose a white or black background to make the saxophone stand out. Create your own background by using a sheet.
2Place the saxophone on an upright saxophone stand to display it for the photograph.
3Take the photo of your saxophone near a north-facing window where there is not a lot of direct sunlight coming in.
4Move in close to your saxophone. Place yourself at the same level as the saxophone when getting ready to take the picture. Place the saxophone in your frame and zoom in or out as needed.
5Take several pictures. You want to have many to choose from when you finish and go through them.
6Create a display of a variety of saxophones together, showcasing the different sizes and types of the instrument. For example, place the alto, tenor and baritone on sax stands against a black background in the upright position. Lay a soprano down in front of them on the ground. This creates a nice picture of different types of saxophones.
7Bring a person into the photo to play the sax. Have the person place the saxophone mouthpiece in their mouth and lean back a bit as if they are playing it. This photo displays the saxophone in use. Zoom in on the person and the saxophone, with nothing else in the background.
