Occasionally when you look at a photograph, you may notice that something about it has a vintage appeal. You might wonder what the photograph would have looked like if it was taken with an older camera or if it was aged several years. Fortunately, digital photography and digital photo editing has made it fairly simple to create aged, vintage looks. Using options in Adobe Photoshop CS5, a new photo can look old in a matter of minutes.

Open the photo you want to age in Photoshop.
2Create a duplicate layer of the photo. This is to ensure that the original photo is preserved.
3Select the duplicate layer and choose "Filter" from the top menu.
4Click "Noise" from the filter list. A noise filter helps to add the grainy, worn look that older photos often have.
5Adjust the noise levels until you have the amount of grain you desire and click "OK" to apply the filter.
6Click the "Image" menu and choose "Adjustments."
7Click "Hue/Saturation."
8Check off the "Colorize" box and set the hue and saturation to 22 as a starting point.
9Adjust the hue and saturation as necessary until you achieve the coloring you desire. This tends to vary from photo to photo.
