How to Get APS Film Developed ~ Enhance Photography Skill

Advance Photo System (APS) is a type of camera that was manufactured during the early 1990s and used 35mm color film. The features of APS included magnetic information exchange, simple cartridge loading, various pictures formats, an easy-to-read indicator of exposure status, a double-exposure prevention mechanism and storage of negative process film. The cartridge that is inserted is smaller than a 35 mm cassette and was made to be more accessible with smaller cameras. Since APS cameras and film are no longer manufactured and considered vintage, send the film to a company that specializes in developing APS film instead of trying to develop the film on your own.

Instructions

Locate local photography shops in your area. Or ask any photo developing store if they have experience with APS. Most developers will know how to develop 35mm film, but may not be familiar with the specific process of APS film.

Go to the Snapfish website and become a member in order to find out about pricing options for sending in your APS film. Sign up for the service and fill out the request form, which you can send online or with your film.

Go to other specific APS developer websites like photothru.com to compare pricing and available packages. For example, PhotoThru offers to send you a free film mailer to send your film in, a free photo CD and an online photo album.

Decide on your developing options, which include having a glossy or matte finish, doubles and the total number of prints. For APS film, prints are provided in the sizes specified on the film roll: 4"x6", 4"x7" or 4"x10".

Send the film in a postage-paid film mailer, which uses strong materials to protect the film. The safest option when mailing the film is to leave it in its canister rather than taking it out.
